Bitz for the Bitz God! June 17, 2008 at 11:43 am

Just uploaded a whole swag of new items to the Online Store, including parts from the Space Marine Command Squad, Assault Squad, Scouts, and a few other bits and bobs that were sitting around.

I also got in a small restock of some Marine items that had sold out.

And after a bit of a tinker with the set-up files, I have added Bank Deposit as a payment option for Australian buyers.

More coming soon, including some more Marine bits, and some Chaos odds and ends.

More in store… June 10, 2008 at 11:12 am

I appear, probably due to being distracted by shiny bike parts, to have neglected to post a store update…

So, just a heads up: The Under The Couch Online Store now includes a small but slowly expanding range of Space Marine and Ork bits.

We’ll be looking to add more over the coming weeks, and in the not too distant future should be able to add in some Chaos bits and whatever else I can find lingering in the shed.

Online store now, well, online… May 12, 2008 at 1:28 pm

Over the last few weeks, I’ve been in the process of setting up an online store for Under The Couch.

It’s been sitting there on the menu bar, but I hadn’t really had a chance to get much listed in there until today, so hadn’t made an actual announcement.

So, here it is: We now have an online store! :)

The range is still expanding, but for the moment it includes bases, decals, an assortment of 40K and WHFB bits left over from eBay auctions or conversion jobs, a bunch of Dwarfs from Battle for Skull Pass, and Star Wars miniatures.

I’m trialling a new Custom Base service as an alternative to resin casting. There are two designs on the store at present, with more to come. Basically, you buy however many bases you want, and I custom make them for you. It’s that easy!

I’m also setting up a ‘Budget Vehicles‘ section, which will showcase various vehicles I come across that might be suitable for 28mm wargaming, for those who are working on a budget and just want cheap vehicles, even if they don’t look quite as flash as the proper kits.

Payments at present are through Paypal. Australian customers can send payment by money order or cheque as well.

So pop on in and have a look around… and be sure to check back, as there’s plenty more to come :)

Stephen King Duma Key Poster Competition… I won! January 25, 2008 at 8:33 am

Not miniature related, but I’m excited about it…

Hodder & Stoughton just ran a competition to design the promotional poster for Stephen King’s new novel, Duma Key.

I put in an entry, just because it sounded like fun, and my design was one of two chosen as the winner… (From what they’ve told me, the final poster will be basically my picture, with the text from the other winner added to it.)

You can check out the two winning designs and the other 8 finalists at www.stephenking.co.uk.

Some great entries in there… I’m rather chuffed at being picked out of such an outstanding field, and by one of my favorite authors, no less.

New ex-Infernus Workshop Additions October 7, 2007 at 9:23 am

I have added a few more ex-Infernus Workshop articles to the Workshop section, which for now completes the exodus from the old website.

So if you check out the Workshop, you’ll now find my large scale Eldar Warlock, built from a Star Wars Jedi figure, a scenic base built for a Vampire Lord, and the WIP Inquisitor Galadrus and Project TS359-B articles.

Over the next little while, I’m hoping to find time to get the camera out and update the Infernus Gallery, and possibly look at transferring over the reviews and downloads sections.

…and Brother fought Brother… May 22, 2007 at 3:48 pm

Finally found a spare moment to get back to work on coverting the content over from the old Infenus website, and so I thought it was about time I got the Brothers over here.

“…and Brother fought Brother.” was a Dark Angel vs Fallen Duel diorama I put together for the Australian Golden Demons back in 2002. I posted it as a blog on DakkaDakka as I built it, and then added the finished and slightly edited blog to the Infernus Workshop.

Well, you can now find the same blog in the Workshop here.

I’m hoping to get some better finished pics of the piece up in the Gallery sometime soon…

General goings on May 18, 2007 at 12:28 pm

Thought I should post a little catch-up news, as I appear to have missed a couple of announcements…

First up, for those who missed the announcement on the forums, we have our winners for the Shades of Red 2 painting competition. Congratulations to Daniel Wainwright for his first-placing minature, and Amy Pridham, who took home the random prize.

Details can be found on the forums here

Also, for anyone interested in such things, I have a WIP Blog running on the forums at the moment, for a couple of commission miniatures that I’m working on: a pair of Commissar tank commanders, one loyalist, and one renegade.

You can find the blog here

Happy 2nd Birthday to us! April 1, 2007 at 4:02 pm

It’s April, and that means two things: Under The Couch is two years old, and it’s time for the second Shades of Red painting competition!

Up for grabs this time around is a winner’s choice of a Warhammer 40K Battleforce or Warhammer Fantasy Battalion, or an Under The Couch miniature conversion of your own design!

For full competition details, have a look here.

If you have any comments or questions, feel free to pop on over to our Forums.

Black Knight Migration March 19, 2007 at 9:21 am

The slow migration from Infernus continues, with the Black Knight Space Marine Chapter joining the slowly expanding collection of models in the Infernus Gallery.

The Black Knights were an army that I painted for a games store I worked for a while back. We ran a ‘Design a Marine colour scheme’ competition, with the winning scheme being used for the store’s demo army.

You can see the pics in the gallery here.

More armies coming soon…

Da Krusha! February 21, 2007 at 12:31 pm

The transition of Infernus over to this site continues…

I have added a ‘Workshop‘ link to the main menu, which will eventually contain a series of step-by-step modelling articles detailing various little projects I have completed over the years.

The first of these, a conversion of an Epic Mega Gargant into a 40K Ork Dreadnought, is now online, with more to come soon.
