Insaniak does Bloodbowl… July 7, 2010 at 1:33 pm

I picked up a copy of Bloodbowl when it was re-released way back in the late 90′s, but after playing frantically for a couple of months, it just wound up sitting on a shelf gathering dust, with one and a half minis painted and too many other distractions stopping me from getting back to it.

Well, I decided it was time to break it out again for my weekly gaming sessions, and with my current resolution of only playing with painted models, that meant busting out the pigments…

Why are Dwarf Pirates so cool? at 1:22 pm

Because they Aaaargh!

Finally finished this guy off. He was started several years ago, as a birthday present for my (now) wife, and given to her unpainted so she could decide whether she wanted to paint him herself or not. She went with the ‘or not’ option, and so after a bit of a wait, here he is:

Old-school Necronising the Iron Giant October 22, 2009 at 9:44 am

As part of my continued push to update my 40K armies a little, I’ve dug out a few Iron Giant toys that I had picked up on eBay a few years back with the intention of adding them in as some sort of Wraithlord-ish unit for my 2nd edition-era Necron army.

They’re somewhat cartoony, but then, so are those Necron models. So I’ve started tweaking them a little to see if I can make them fit in…

You can find the WIP thread over on the Forums here.

More Dakka for the Waaagh effort. at 9:40 am

I’ve been playing a bit more 40K again lately (finally) and so decided it was about time to update my Orks for the new (or not so new, by now) codex.

There will be a few tweaks needed through the army as unit options have changed somewhat, but first up I decided on a couple of additions: An old 2nd edition Shokk Attack Gun that I had sitting around in the to-be-painted pile, and a unit of Kannons that I built a while back and never got around to finishing off.

You can find them both in the Ork section of the Infernus Gallery here.

4 Dwarven Kings… looking a little the worse for wear. at 9:32 am

We’re working our way through the Kellar’s Keep quests at the moment, and the next quest sees the heroes encounter the skeletons of 4 Dwarven Kings.

Obviously, the rules tell you to just use the regular Skeletons for these guys, as there are no Dwarven Skeletons included in the set.

This is clearly a deplorable state of affairs, so I made some Dwarven Skeletons from the regular ones…

You can see the entire project so far, including these little fellows, in the Gallery here and in the Forums here.

Aquila Landed – ‘reassembling’ the BfM crashed Aquila. August 21, 2009 at 2:10 pm

Back in 2004 when 4th edition Warhammer 40000 was released, I took one look at the crashed Aquila shuttle that was included in the box as battlefield scenery and thought: Hey, you know what would be fun? Putting that back together…

So I did.

Well, having just found the original WIP pictures hiding in the deep recesses of my web server, you can now see how it was done in the Workshop.

Braaaaains… July 27, 2009 at 1:49 pm

Finally found some free time over the weekend to get back to work on my Heroquest project.

You can check the progress of the project, including the rather Thriller-esque newest addition, in the Gallery here and in the Forums here.
