We need to clear out some of the excess that’s been piling up in the back room, so for a limited time we’re shaving 30% off the price of all Star Wars Miniatures in the online store.
This will last until the 15th of December, or while stocks last.
As a reminder, purchases over $100 qualify for free shipping worldwide!

Bleeurgh…! July 23, 2011 at

I had a idea a while back to sculpt a bunch of demons from scratch, using a translucent material so that they could be painted as if they were materialising out of thin air. With that in mind, I kicked off the experimenting by picking up a pack each of the translucent versions of Sculpey and Fimo.
Turns out, they’re not actually very translucent. But, I had fun with them, and so decided to keep going with non-transparent demons anyway.
So here’s the first effort, sculpted from Sculpey:

Put the finishing touches on the Sternguards’ head this morning:

I’m sending these off to have enough for the squad cast up in resin, to save a bit of work on trying to get a squad of them all looking the same. Updates as I get them :)

I added my latest painted miniature to the gallery over the weekend… This little fellow is a ‘Verminion’ from a fledgling fantasy range from Black Knight Games.

Painted for BKG’s first online painting competition. You can find the full set of pics in the Gallery here.

So the Star Wars Miniatures game is officially dead, but a group of dedicated players over on swmgamers.com have banded together to keep the game going.
Along with updating the tournament play rules and introducing new maps, they guys are putting out a ‘virtual set’ which includes stat cards for 40 new characters, with guidelines on how to represent these characters with existing miniatures.
They’re looking for pledges to get the set printed, which can be made at Kickstarter:
If you’re interested in keeping the game alive, I would recommend jumping on board. Or, if you’re not interested in pledging at this point, keep an eye out for the set on sale once they hit the magic number.

The third in my series of old 3rd edition battle reports is now online.
This time around, it’s a 1000-point battle between Imperial Guard and Nurgle’s … er, finest?

You can find it in the Battle Reports section here.
More soon…

I’ve been intending to update the Marines for a week now, but wound up working longer hours than usual at both of my other jobs, so only just got caught up…
I performed an arm swap on the first Heavy Bolter marine, to bring the weapon up into more of a ‘bringing to bear’ pose, and swapped his arms onto the second heavy marine, who is in more of an advancing pose…

Also finished basic assembly on the remaining two marines:
